The unit is cheap, cheap, cheap. Found it very difficult to get it to perform properly and find it very fussy. After 3 mos the thermocouple failed and our dealer has had trouble getting a replecement. The stove has been down for more than a week in peak season. Have had a Harman that is 15 years old and have not had hearly the frustration. You only get what you pay for .
SO SORRY TO HEAR YOU HAVE NOT HAD A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE PS35. PROPER PRE-INSTALLATION SET-UP IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO THE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE OF ANY STOVE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO GIVE YOU THE SERVICE YOU DESERVED. WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT GOOD FEEDBACK ON THE ENTIRE ECO CHOICE LINE, ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT THE QUALITY OF A HARMAN AND IT IS TRUE THAT “YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR”, THE PS35 HAVE PROVEN A GOOD VALUE IN OUR EXPERIENCE.

We have TWO of these heating our home, one newer (far batter) and a two year old one. one was replaced due to a phantom malfunction causing it to misfire, replaced with a newer model. far quieter and runs better. the older one failed to ignite this morning bad heating element. if your handy at replacing parts (which is really simple) then they are great heaters, when they work.

We are in our second season with our free standing heatilator like the one pictured above. We have a more expensive quadrafire in another location but would take the heatilator hands down. The heatilator has a large hopper, is very simple to operate and maintain, has a large ash drawer and the firepot is very accessible. The unit burns very clean and a daily 2 minute scraping of the firepot and periodic emptying of the ash pan kept it humming busily along all last winter keeping us toasty warm. My only complaint is that I wish pellet stove companies would manufacture quieter blowers. The heatilator is quieter than the quadrafire, however. We think the heatilator is a best buy.

My wife and I wanted to buy oone of the better quality pellet stoves but our budget was tight. We bought this knowing that at least we would get Survival Products service. It has heated out house all winter and we have not had one problem. I would recommend to anyone.
